Interactivity, hybrid TV and new media

Interactive TV has tried and failed for 20 years because it has always focused on features and functions instead of content.

How can connected devices and media companies push new, rich, app-delivered content?

  • Telling a story
  • Engaging people's emotions
  • Drawing users in by making technology personal
  • Understanding the psychology of the couch

Objectives
In 2010 40 million connected/smart TVs were sold. It is estimated that another 60 million will be sold in 2011 and over 500 million by 2015. How can EBU Members secure their audience reach? What content/services should they develop to entertain their public and connect with the next generation of TV users?

Who should attend?
Content creators of EBU active or associate Members, and approved participants.

  • Head of future media strategy, crossmedia/crossplatform distribution, digital media, social media.
  • Programme makers and professionals in charge of crossmedia, transmedia, interactive programme development.
