A new world is coming. A scientific revolution is under way. A giant revolution on the smallest of scales…

It is a revolution that could profoundly change our daily lives and in many different ways. A revolution that already enables us to dream of smaller, lighter, and cheaper gadgets; that promises us more efficient computers and faster communication channels, but also more effective medical treatments, a cleaner environment, and pleasanter lives.

To see this major revolution, you need to go deep down into the world of the infinitely small: the world of nanoscience and nanotechnologies.

This popular science documentary series takes us on a fascinating journey into the – sometimes scary – unknown. A future world that is attracting the attention of the international scientific community and some venture capitalists. It is already a world of major media issues and political conflict and of jostling for position and international economic competition.

Nanoscience is a subject of passion in scientific and political circles: passions measured in terms of hopes and fears. A tiny world that presages immense change, both promises and threats, and that gives rise to philosophical and ethical questions. A world of dreams – but also of divergences of opinion as to our future and the future of our planet.
