Description & content   

The EBU TRAINING Assembly is the essential meeting for Training & Development leaders in Public Service Media. During two days, you will take part in debates on a selection of hot issues, discuss with the experts and pick up practical training and development ideas to take home. Plus, the Assembly offers a unique chance to build up your professional network and explore opportunities for partnerships at the European level in a relaxed and professional atmosphere.

2010 Focus: How do Public Media compete

Public Service broadcasters face increasing competition and, in many countries, their remit and position are being challenged by Public authorities & citizens. As Public Service broadcasters come under more scrutiny, they have to be more efficient, more creative and more useful.

DAY I

-Think like a sportsman: sports can be a source of inspiration for an efficient training culture for Public Service Media. 
-Social media, a challenge and an opportunity for Public Media. 
-Anticipate the future - Newsflash on the latest technical issues & trends and what EBU Technical has to say about them. 
-Workshops: 4 examples on how to address training & competition issues in a practical manner. 


DAY II

-EBU TRAINING: the long journey from last year and what's next. 
-Organizations changing to compete: How 2 Public Service broadcasters adapt their mission, regulations and organization to the fast changes in their national media environment.     
-How to design an effective training offer in a big broadcasting organization: the example of BBC Academy. 
-Partnerships : how can broadcasters work together with higher education to enhance employability and creativity.
