EBU School of Talents

The EBU Master School on Radio Features wishes to generate new talents for radio. This is why we have renamed it as the "EBU School of Talents.

Radio has to re-invent new formats, new genres thanks to innovation and creative ideas.

What we aim to achieve with the Master school is not to perpetuate the old-style, elite feature that nobody listens to but to offer EBU Members a new generation of talents who will be able to connect with the audience. We will teach them key skills that they will be able to push to their limits.

Objectives for the participants:

Allow a selected group of young Radio producers from EBU Members to:

  • Produce a high-quality radio feature;
  • Master the whole set of skills required for radio-featuring;
  • Take part in practically orientated master courses;
  • Benefit from coaching from the best European experts;
  • Receive an accreditation at the end of the Master School;
  • Have participants' final projects presented to the International Features Conference and enter the EBU network of professionals.

Mastercourse 2 - Coaching session

The young producers selected last December for the 4th EBU Master School on Radio Features met for the 2nd time for a three-day Mastercourse in Brussels at VRT.

During this mastercourse, the participants presented their personal project of radio feature.

A brainstorming session allowed them to get comments from their fellow colleagues and the coaches. They presented a scene and interview, as well as the main topic of their feature.

The Master School aims to accompany the participants from the initial idea to the actual production of a radio documentary.

A wonderful team of young talented radio producers...
They wrote a song for the coaches starting from the music of John Lenon "IMAGINE":

>> click here to listen to it !

"Imagine there's no feature
It's very hard to try
Imagine all the silence
Dead air is a crime

Imagine all the talents
Waiting to be found
It might sound Scandinavien
But it's just my inner wing
Excuse me if I'am being personal
But that's the point of No return

Imagine there's no coaches
No stories to be told
Imagine all the Silence
No mikes to Hold"
