EBU ARS ACUSTICA NEWSLETTER NO. 1 - 2006
No. 1- Radio -18 September 2006

Dear friends! Autumn is here after an extremely hot and pleasant summer (at least here in Sweden) and now it's time again to get back to our jobs and to start to plan for our EBU Art's Birthday 2007. This is the first Ars Acustica Newsletter which will be distributed by email and also via the EBU in Geneva and posted on our EBU website. In this newsletter you will find news and info about ongoing and upcoming Ars Acustica-events within the EBU and its members. The newsletter will of course also contain updated information about our upcoming EBU Art's Birthday 2007. I urge everyone to respect the deadlines for the EBU Art's Birthday and also to send me all the news and info that you have about Ars Acustica activities in your radio-company/country.

All the best,

Erik Mikael Karlsson - Swedish Radio Ltd.

Chairman EBU Ars Acustica

EBU ART'S BIRTHDAY 2007 - New theme chosen

Following the voting for a new theme among producers and editors in our EBU Ars Acustica Group - the selected theme for our EBU Art's Birthday 2007 will be "100th Anniversary of Radio". Again, the theme should be seen as a proposal for point of departure for this EBU Ars Acustica Special Evening on Tuesday 17th of January 2007 on the EBU-satellite, but each producer/editor is of course fully free to develop his/her broadcast as he/she wants it in the free framework of the EBU Art's Birthday-concept. Mr. Erik Mikael Karlsson and Mrs. Elisabeth Zimmermann will be the producers responsable for taking care of all uplinking from Europe to satellite-channels RAVEL and VERDI from the Radio Houses in Stockholm and Vienna. All incoming signals are to be sent on ISDN to either Stockholm or Vienna following a schedule that Mr. Erik Mikael Karlsson will distribute in the end of October.
