Boxing, as an Olympic sport, is only open to males aged between 17 and 34 years old.

Boxers are paired according to the results of a draw for each respective weight category. A boxing bout last for four rounds of two minutes each, with a one-minute break between each round. 

The Olympic Boxing competition will be held at the Peristeri Olympic Boxing Hall from 14 to 29 August. For the first time in the history of Boxing, camera equipment will be used for the verification of results.
