Pink TV, will broadcast for the first time today (25 October) on cable and satellite.

Prestigious shareholders, including TF1, M6, Canal +, Lagardère, Connection, Financière Pinault, Pierre Bergé, Pascal Houzelot and various investment funds, got together and came up with an initial 15 full-time employees and a budget of 11,5 million Euros, half of which will be dedicated to programmes.

Pascal Houzelot, the channel's chairman, is hoping that subscribers will bring in 80% of the channel's revenues. The channel would require 180,000 subscribers (at 9 Euros a month) in order to break even in 2007.

Pink TV will be available on CanalSatellite, TPS as well as on cable networks.
