The EBU Teletext Group elected a new presidency at its annual gathering in Geneva on Thursday. Sabine Wahrmann (ARD/RBB) will chair the Group and will be assisted by Múirne Jaffan (RTE), Beat Schneider (SwissTXT) and Zvezdan Martic (RTVSLO). 

Sabine Wahrmann is coordinator of the diverse teletext offers from ARD and Editor in Chief of ARD/RBB regional text. Prior to being appointed to her current position in 2003, she worked as journalist, editor and presenter for various programmes of ARD's regional Berlin station. She also helped create the multimedia offers from ARD.

After her election she said: "This is a new start for the Teletext Group. Every month the users for analogue teletext still increase and we need to create much more awareness for this high usage medium. At the same time, in the Group, we will focus on Digital Text offers and subtitles and possibly mobile offers."
