The EBU Technical Committee's Broadcast Management Committee
(BMC) is holding a two-day seminar, Forecast 2004, on 9-10
November.

Over 125 delegates from the EBU, the International
Telecommunication Union, broadcasting organizations, equipment
manufacturers and service providers from Europe and North Africa
are attending the seminar at the EBU headquarters in Geneva.
The first day will include a review of the
activities of the Project Groups of the BMC during the year. A
number of critical systems issues are also to be examined in
detail, including broadcasting multimedia to mobile and handheld
devices, and the latest in digital delivery technologies including
broadband.
On the second day the focus will be on frequency planning
matters for digital radio and television. The resolutions and
results of the Regional Radiocommunication Conference (RRC), held
last May, will be reviewed. This will be followed by an analysis of
activities to be carried out over the next two years, leading
up to the final session in 2006, where the frequency spectrum
plan will be defined, under which terrestrial TV and radio will be
operated for many years to come.
