The John Peel Night

The Eurosonic partnership is joining the BBC in its tribute to the late John Peel.

Offered by BBC/Radio 1 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/), the John Peel Night will be broadcast on Euroradio on Thursday, 16 December.

The Night will be transmitted from the BBC Maida Vale studios, where the world famous "Peel sessions" were recorded.

It will start with "Teenage Dreams So Hard To Beat", a documentary looking back at the career of the great DJ, featuring contributions from The Undertones, the Cure, New Order, Supergrass, Robert Plant, the Buzzcocks.

The tribute will also feature great live music from bands and artists that John Peel championed: the Wedding Present, PJ Harvey, Damon Albarn (Blur), Belle and Sebastian, among many others.
