A new EBU Project Group on technology for monitoring Access Services (subtitling, audio description, etc.) is being created. 

The group will be chaired by Mr Andrea Gabriellini (BBC R&D) and meet first on 25-26 January 2005. Participation is open to EBU members.  You can  register here. 

The EBU is also actively backing work on support for subtitles in the file formats AAF and MXF. An open industry group, consisting of broadcasters, manufacturers and other parties, is currently developing the necessary technology.
