Let the Peoples Sing

After the final of the 2005 "Let the Peoples Sing" Euroradiio Choral Competition, which took place in Cologne on Sunday, 16 October, the jury  awarded the following prizes:

Youth Chorus Category: 
First Prize: Estonian Television Girls' Chorus (chorus master: Aarne Saluveer)
Second Prize: Hanover Girls' Chorus (chorus master: Gudrun Schröfel)
Third Prize: Women's Chorus of the Glier Music Academy, Kiev/Ukraine (chorus master: Galina Gorbatenko)

Adult Chorus Category:
First Prize: Voci Nobili University Chorus, Bergen/Norway (chorus master: Maria Gamborg Helbekkmo)
Second Prize: Hymnia, Denmark (chorus master: Poul Emborg)
Third Prize: Tone Tomsic Academic Chorus, Ljubljana/Slovenia (chorus master: Ursa Lah)

The Competition's overall prize, the SILVER ROSE BOWL, went to the Children's Chorus of the Tallinn Music High School (chorus master: Ingrid Kõrvits).

The jury was composed of Gustav Danziger, ORF, Christoph Held, WDR, Bent Groenholdt, Chairman, DR, Michael Emery, BBC, Katalin Vass, MR, Helge Lindeman, NRK and Brian Newhouse, MPR.

The Competition final, relayed by 21 radio stations was offered as a live Euroradio event with the performing choruses present on stage in the Klaus von Bismarck Hall at WDR Radio House in Cologne. The only chorus not able to travel to Cologne was the Women's Chorus of the Glier Music Academy, Kiev, whose live performance from the Ukrainian Radio House in Kiev was broadcast via ISDN line.
