MTV Hungary

MTV-Hungarian Television, in a press communiqué, stressed that they "did not deserve the irrational vandalism either morally or intellectually"  that occurred in a night of anti-government riots (18-19 September).

The headquarters are currently closed to visitors, only employees are allowed to enter the building on Szabadság tér. The extent of the damage is being assessed. The first channel of MTV interrupted its broadcast at 1:22 am, the second channel at 1:20 am, but they both managed to start the morning programmes on time, i.e. at 5:23 am and 5:39 am, respectively.

MTV appealed to all public and civil organizations of the country to help preserve common values, among them the maintenance of the security and operation of public institutions.
