MIPCOM 2006 opens in Cannes today, Monday 9 October.
It was preceded by the traditional MIPCOM Junior over the weekend.
Once again the EBU is represented by the Television Department which, for the first time has decorated its stand in the colours of its new identity – Eurovision TV – that was launched on the Internet a few days ago. This stand (LR2.06) is located in the brand new Espace Lerins, in the Palais des Festivals, to be inaugurated at this 2006 MIPCOM.

The EBU stand will highlight all the department’s current projects, on paper, video and the Internet. Besides all the many meetings organized by the project managers and heads of unit in a bid to promote their programmes, other events will be held this week, such as the Animation Group meeting on Sunday 8 October or, on Tuesday 11 October, the screening of the best of the Eurovision Creative Forum, which was held last May in Berlin.
The Eurovision Operations Department is also represented on the Eurovision TV stand by Jorge Simao, Peter Vickers, and Paolo Pusterla.
Also present in Cannes: Jřrgen Franck, Bettina Brinkmann, Jeroen Depraetere, Nicoletta Iacobacci, Philippe Jacot, Anna Vasova, Tal Barnea, Nadja Burkhardt, Anne Brochot, Nicole Jeanrenaud and Amélie Rossignol.
