53rd Premios Ondas

The 53rd Premios Ondas international radio and television programme competition, organized every year by Radio Barcelona Cadena SER under the aegis of the EBU has announced the 2006 winners.

In the Radio section, from 31 entries coming from public service and independent organizations, the jury has awarded the Premios Ondas 2006 to "Kolysanka dla Brajana" (A Lullaby for Brian), entered by Polish Radio.

For the content, able to present subjects such as pain, hope and solidarity in an objective, dispassionate way. The unobtrusive production maintains a suitable pace, lending further credibility to the programme. This is a work which has managed to successfully condense a story with two sides: tragedy and hope into a half hour piece without lapsing into sentimentalism.

A special mention went to “Paroles d’amour – Lettres et mots d’amour du 20e siècle”, Radio France

The jury also whished to acknowledge the quality of the programme submitted by Radio France for communicating such a universal message as love so effectively. Also worth mentioning is that the production essentially created by the listeners for the listeners is broadcast in a multimedia format which lap the radio at its heart.
