Launch of new Junior Eurovision Song Contest website

On 14 November 2006, Eurovision TV, in cooperation with 2006 host broadcaster TVR (Romania), launched the new Junior Eurovision Song Contest official website: www.junioreurovision.tv.

The new website has been redesigned for teenage audiences and more specifically for the growing European fan community of this popular event, while providing a convenient source of information for the press.

In addition to high-quality content, such as streamed video clips, pictures and background on the contestants, sound files, song lyrics, and information about national selections and the event itself, the site also provides users with a number of interactive features and sophisticated multimedia tools. The website will be maintained to make it worth visiting throughout the year. "In keeping with the latest developments on the Internet, we are preparing some spectacular online events, and further details will be released soon," said Nicoletta Iacobacci, Eurovision’s Head of Interactive TV.

While Eurovision TV is responsible for the content, Italian-based Digital Magics is in charge of the architecture, design and technical maintenance of the new site.

The next Junior Eurovision Song Contest is to be televised live from Bucharest on 2 December 2006 offering young artists the chance to present their own songs live to millions of viewers across Europe.

The cooperation between Eurovision TV and Digital Magics will continue with the new Eurovision Song Contest official website to be launched early in 2007.
