
Stars of Europe - 24 March from 19:35 - 22:35
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome (25 March 1957), RTBF and VRT are organizing a major evening event, Stars of Europe focusing on entertainment, the Brussels-Capital Region and the European Union. The programme will feature thirty European celebrities gathered together to celebrate Europe in its capital through music and images.
The show will be an exceptional framework to welcome Europe's best-known singers and entertainers, key figures from civil society, royalty and senior Belgian officials as well as European heads of state, to Brussels at the foot of the Atomium.
Performers so far include: Arno, Axelle Red, Clouseau, Helmut Lotti, Maurane (Belgium); Calogero (France), Zucchero, Ramazzoti (Italy); Simply Red, Kim Wilde (UK); Scorpions (tbc) (Germany); Julio Iglesias (Spain); Demis Roussos (Greece); The Corrs (Ireland); Lordi (Finland).
A live prime-time programme lasting three hours with two presenters in French, Dutch and English is already in place. It will be possible for other presenters to be positioned next to the stage to present their own programmes in other languages for other European countries. The programme will be recorded in 16:9 with an international soundtrack and will be delivered live via the Eurovision Network on 24 March 2007, 19:35 - 22:35 GMT (3 hours).

Berliner Philharmonic Orchestra - 24 March from 16:30–17.45
A few hours before the Stars of Europe a classical concert will take place in Berlin, Germany, also to mark the 50th jubilee of the Treaty of Rome, under the patronage of German chancellor Angela Merkel and organized by ZDF. This classical concert by the Berliner Philharmonic Orchestra will take place on 24 March from 16:30–17.45.
The orchestra, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle, will play Luciano Berio's "Folk Songs" and Ludwig van Beethoven's "Symphony No. 5 in C minor. The programme will be recorded in 16:9 with an international soundtrack in Dolby Digital 5.1 and will be delivered live via the Eurovision Network.
