At its last session in December, the EBU General Assembly decided to admit two new Associate Members, effective 1 January 2012 : Rádio Cultura (Fundação Padre Anchieta) from Brazil and New York Public Radio. 

The EBU's Director of Radio Raina Konstantinova welcomed the two new Associate Members: "The EBU Radio is happy to welcome Brazil’s Radio Cultura and the New York Public Radio to the family of public broadcasters. We are certain that they will enrich and diversify our global offer, adding new exciting programmes, experience and knowledge for the benefit of all EBU members." 

This brings the EBU's membership to a total of 85 national media organizations in and around Europe and 37 Associate Members worldwide.
