The winning entries for the 16th edition of the Geneva-Europe

year, will be announced in Geneva on 3 September.
Nine TV dramas have been selected by four EBU Members: ARD and

Grand Prize, while 15 aspiring TV script writers, from seven EBU
Members: ARD, France 2, NPB (Netherlands), SRG SSR idée suisse, TVP
(Poland), YLE (Finland) and ZDF, are contenders for one of the ten
TV Film Writing Bursaries.
The script writer of the winning Grand Prize film will receive
CHF 10,000 and the broadcaster, having produced the winning film,
will receive a sum of CHF40,000 to go towards the development of
another film by a newcomer. The scripts that are developed from the

Geneva on 26-28 September. The three-day event will be moderated by
the highly-experienced tutors, Guy Meredith and Roger Gregory.
Besides
one-to-one meetings about their particular scripts, the bursary
winners will attend sessions on brainstorming and the power of
invention, character building, moving the story through motivation,
scene construction, comedy and the power of reversal and surprising
and entertaining the audience.
