The International News Safety Institute (INSI) will hold its first annual general meeting (AGM) in Budapest, Hungary, on 5 November, in conjunction with the News Xchange conference. INSI is a non-governmental organization dedicated to the safety of journalists and media staff.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) underwrites the News Xchange conference, the only not-for-profit international broadcast news conference outside the United States.

EBU Secretary General Jean Stock said: “We are very pleased to be associated with INSI and promote their efforts at this year’s News Xchange conference.” 

“News Xchange will bring together broadcast news professionals from around the world and provide us with a great forum to promote our objectives,” said Rodney Pinder, director of INSI.
