Andrew Onalenna Sesinyi, who succeeded Abdelhamid Bouksani as secretary general of the Union of National Radio and Television Organizations of Africa (URTNA), paid his first visit to the EBU on 30 May 2003.

He came with Abderrahmane Khodja, director of Afro Vision, URTNA's news exchange centre. Both officials were given an extensive tour of the Eurovision control centre.

They attended the meeting of the Inter-Unions Satellite Operations Group (ISOG) and held talks on the forthcoming World Electronic Media Forum (WEMF) with the secretary general of the North American Broadcasters' Association, Michael McEwen, the EBU's head of governance, David Lewis, and the chairman of the World Radio and Television Counci (WRTC), Guillaume Chenevière.

Mr Chenevière, a former director general of Télévision Suisse Romande, is executive producer of the WEMF, a side-event to the World Summit on the Information Society which will take place in Geneva in December 2003.

The WEMF is co-sponsored by Switzerland, the EBU, SRG SSR idée suisse and the United Nations Department of Public Information.
