The 32th Ordinary Meeting of the EBU Television Committee was held
in Dublin on Friday 24 January under the chairmanship of Bob
Collins, director general of RTE.
The agenda included a review of the TV
Department's activities in 2002, the business plan for 2003-2006,
and an update on News and Sport from Stefan Kürten, the EBU's
director of Operations.

Other items up for discussion included a new format for the
Eurovision Song Contest from 2004 and the final report of the EBU's
Digital Strategy Group. This meeting was expected to be Mr Collins' last as chairman of
the TV Committee, which he has headed since April 1996, as he has
already announced that he will not stand for re-election at the TV
Assembly to be held in Amsterdam on 9 and 10 April.
