Following workshop sessions held during the
54th edition of the Prix Italia 2002, RAI has published a book
summing up the proceedings of the workshops.
Radio and Television in the Digital
Age: languages, genres, memory, quality, published in both
English and Italian, looks at a number of issues linked to the
emergence of digital radio and television.
The first part of the book is dedicated to
radio and to what listeners now expect from radio, the oldest
broadcast medium.
The second part concentrates on programme
quality.
The third part looks at one of the most
important genres of TV production: fiction.
The concluding part deals with various
aspects of the digital age such as digital archives, the transition
from analogue to digital broadcasting and copyright.
