Public Radio in Europe
The EBU SIS study 'Public
Radio in Europe' has been published.
The EBU SIS study 'Public Radio in Europe'
has been published and will be distributed to EBU Members in the
coming weeks. This is the first time such a report has been created
giving detailed information on the radio markets in 20 European
countries with in-depth analysis of the EBU Member channels
including information on audience, output and finance.
The report was compiled through a survey
and was organised in an innovative way through collaboration of
Penelope Rudd (EBU SIS) and radio experts Graham Dixon (BBC) and
Stanislaw Jedrzejewski (PR).
Within the report there is a European
Overview which shows the contrast in the markets across Europe and
highlights the continuing strength of the media in terms of time
spent listening and the growing number of stations available. There
are also individual country reports with details on the history of
radio and some trends on channel performance as well as detailed
descriptions of the EBU Member channels.
