World Economic Forum

The EBU is represented at the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum by its President, Arne Wessberg.

"In my meetings, I intend to stress the crucial role played by public broadcasters and the EBU in this information age which, with all its huge facilities providing total information and entertainment to each individual in the global village, is presenting us with so many challenges", said Arne Wessberg as he arrived in Davos.

From 23 to 28 January in the Swiss resort of Davos, more than 2,150 participants, among them political, business and religious leaders as well as 264 media and opinion leaders, are discussing global, regional and industry issues facing society in workshops and interview-style panels.

At the same time, militants opposed to globalization are holding the third World Social Forum in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
