Music rights and social media

This session will describe the basic copyright rules, with particular regard to music rights, for EBU Members publishing their content on social media and similar online content-sharing platforms. It will also provide an opportunity to hear from Members about how they have succeeded in covering music rights clearance for their content on such platforms through contractual arrangements with their local collecting societies. In collaboration with EBU Legal and Policy and EBU Digital.

After an initial presentation from Anne-Sarah Skrebers, EBU's Senior Legal Counsel, on some of the key elements to keep in mind when posting music content on social media, we will get into a roundtable where each organization will be able to raise any issues they’ve been dealing with when it comes to this matter. This is an opportunity to collect some of the key issues that many of you share and to discuss them with the relevant people that can help you with them.
