A day of active NETWORK & LEARN for you

Network with and independent producers and key Channel executives in charge of programs from Public Service broadcasters in Europe. 

Learn from experts practitioners about how to successfully manage the production a TV series from the commissioning to the broadcasting

  • GET ARTISTIC INSIGHTS & TRENDS on US scripted TV series.
  • SHARE experiences in TV series production: How do you proceed in your Channel and on your market?
  • DISCUSS your specific challenges and your recipes to produce efficient and successful TV series.
  • BUZZ work in small groups about best production practices at each stage of development & production: are they relevant in your market?
  • Be inspired by new ideas and TAKE ACTION.

The Master Class will start on Thursday 23 February at 9:15 and will finish on Friday 24 February at 13:00.

The networking dinner, included in the Network & Learn fee, will be held on Thursday 23 February at 19:30. (Place to be confirmed during the Master Class).

DAY I

  • Keynote: SVT Head of Fiction or the producer of the Swedish TV series "Andra Avenyn" 
  • Module: Industrialization of TV series production 
    • Best-practices identified during the process of production of series with more than 10 episodes. 
    • Discussion: listing of the best-practices classified by stage of production: development: writing... production: shooting editing..., broadcasting
    • Adaptation of the best practices to specific European markets and regulations
    • Including group exercise                            
  • Keynote: How to manage your relationship with your producer once the commissioning is done 
  • How to choose/commission the best subject for local TV series? 
    • Immediate artistic insight from US tv trends for local TV producers and channel executives in Europe 
    • Discussion: what are the key elements for a successful series
    • Roundtable: which subject for which country                   

DAY II

  • US TV series trends: 
    • An analysis on US TV trends
    • General presentation of US Television
    • US TV series trends from the last two seasons 
    • Work in small groups on or two specific issues

Katharina von Flotow
Katarina is an independent producer, author and director of documentaries for TV and cinema based in Geneva. Prior to establishing her production company, she worked for many years at the EBU, TV department where she coordinated the production and distribution of European co-productions in the field of culture and documentary.

Frédérique Charbit
Frédérique is a TV Consultant who has in-depth knowledge of the Media Industry with a focus on US TV. Over the past few years she has developed an expertise on European and US scripted Tv series. Prior to being a consultant, she worked as TV programme buyer at TF1.

Gordon Lovitt has been Programming Director at Ceska Televize, TV Prima, Prima Cool in the Czech Republic and at TVR1 in Romania. He is currently Managing Partner of a production company based in Prague, NOW Productions.

Registration fee

The price includes:

It does not include travel costs to and from Geneva nor hotel accommodation.

Payment
Upon registration an invoice will be sent to you. Payment is due upon receipt of invoice by bank transfer to the account mentioned on the invoice. 
 
Cancellation policy
Registration fees will not be refunded. However, your organisation may send an alternative delegate.
 
EBU TRAINING reserves the right to cancel the course for any reason. Participants will be notified by email. EBU TRAINING will not be liable for any travel expenses, other expenses or any consequential loss arising from such a cancellation.
