Ars Sonora 

Founded on 1985 by Francisco Felipe and Jose Iges, who directed it between 1987 and 2008. Since the end of 2008, it is directed and presented by Miguel Alvarez-Fernandez. 

Created as an "open ear" pointing to international sound and radio art, and also as a platform for the production and diffusion of works in those fields, it has become an active forum for all kinds of initiatives in those areas and a promoter and producer of Radio Art works (around 80, to date), in collaboration with diverse institutions. Through Ars Sonora, RNE has channeled its presence in the Ars Acustica EBU Group and all its international projects -Horizontal Radio, Rivers & Bridges, Art's Birthday...-. It has also organized events like the FIRA (International Festival of Art Radio) in three editions (1989, 1990 and 1991) and the I Meeting for Radio Art "Invisible Cities" (Madrid, 1992). Its productions have been dbroadcast in prestigious events, encounters and festivals like Wings of Sound (Helsinki, 1992), Radio Beyond (London, 1992),  International Festival of Contemporary Music of Alicante (in all editions since 1990), Macrophon (Wroclaw, 1994), Festival of Granada, Festival of Electroacústic Music PUNTO DE ENCUENTRO (in several editions) or Biennial of Radio (Mexico 2004), among others. Ars Sonora has also represented RNE in prizes like the Prix Brno Radio (2nd prize in 1988) or the Prix Italia (Prix Special in 1991).
