KBS HD Feature Drama, “Säya Säya” (directed by Young-Tak Koh) was honored with the best of TV Drama - TV Movies and Mini Series in 2006 Prix Italia, one of the most prestigious international awards.

Säya Säya is an adapted TV drama based on the novel with the same title written by Kyung-Sook Shin. It features a deaf mother’s devotion and love for her children who also suffer from deafness. This poetic story with a backdrop of beautiful natural scenes was well received when it was first broadcast in Korea.  It also won a special prize at the 2006 Seoul Drama Awards which were held on August 28 in Seoul, Korea.

A total of 98 programmes from 36 member broadcasters were submitted for this year’s Prix Italia. The award ceremony was held at the Future Center Telecom Italia on September 30th.
