The EBU/SMPTE Joint Task Force on Time and Synchronisation held its first meeting in New York at the Sony Music Building on the 5–6 November.

The group will define new time labelling and synchronisation schemes for the  TV production and movie communities, amongst others. 

On the first day, over 30 participants from a variety of industries started their work with a review of the limitations imposed by current timing methods. 

The second day's work concentrated on identifying the necessary attributes of future synchronisation schemes and the actions to be accomplished for the next Task Force meeting which will be held on December 5th, also in the US.
