Metropolitan Opera: Renewal of contract for 2007-2008 season
The contract between the EBU and the New York Metropolitan Opera for the 2007-2008 season (from December 07 to May 08) was signed today, 11 December in New York. The EBU was represented by Pierre Yves Tribolet.

Thirty-five countries will relay at least one opera from the MET in the coming season. Each opera is broadcast by an average of 17 countries, reaching 3.5 million listenerss worldwide.
On the 19 January, the MET will be offering La Bohème by Puccini as a tribute to Luciano Pavarotti and l'Assedio di Corinto by Rossini as a tribute to Beverly Sills. Both opera singers passed away in 2007.
