The EBU’s Television department, Eurovision TV, will be at MIPCOM, Cannes in force this year, showcasing its latest coproductions in all genres (more info).
Eurovision TV brings Members together to exchange or produce content, providing 1,700 hours of programming to Members annually, including animation, fiction, documentary series, competitions for young dancers and musicians.

The highlights are:
Public Enemy No. 1: Carbon
Are you ready to broadcast the complete story on carbon issues for the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December 2009?
This exclusive documentary provides a unique opportunity to hear the current situation straight from the cutting edge scientific community and the environmental negotiators themselves. This 52’ HD documentary focuses on the real solutions to reduce CO 2 emissions.

The film features interviews with top scientists and negotiators including the Nobel Peace Prize winner and Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Dr Pachauri, Todd Stern, the principal advisor to the Obama Administration and chief American negotiator to the successor of the Kyoto protocol, Greenpeace, the European Commission and others.

Visit the Eurovision TV stand for a screening of Carbon or come to the screening on Tuesday 6 October, 16.30-17.30 at Auditorium J/ Level where it is being previewed at a conference organised by the European Commission previewing the hottest European TV coproductions on climate change.
Christmas Oratorio in Bethlehem and Jerusalem
On Christmas Eve a concert performed of the world renowned Zurich Opera will be broadcast from Bethlehem in Palestine and on Christmas day they will perform in Jerusalem in Israel. This type of production is the first of its kind in a part of the world where a seemingly interminable conflict about a territory that is of the greatest significance for the major world religions.

The Zurich Opera would like to show its support for the peace process in the Middle East with this special guest performance. Under the direction of Riccardo Chailly, the Orchestra La Scintilla, the Dresden Chamber Choir and internationally renowned soloists will perform Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in the Church of the Nativity.
