Ukraine gets ready for 7th Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Kyiv (Ukraine), 13 October 2009 – Ukraine is getting ready for the 7th Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place on 21 November in the country's capital Kyiv. The event, often knows as the Eurovision Song Contest's 'little brother', is a co-production by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU)* and Ukrainian public broadcaster NTU.

The draw for the final running order of the 13 participants of the 2009 Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place today.

The 13 contestants, all aged between 10 and 15, will compete in the following order during the live show:
 
01. Sweden
02. Russia
03. Armenia
04. Romania
05. Serbia
06. Georgia
07. The Netherlands
08. Cyprus
09. Malta
10. Ukraine
11. Belgium
12. Belarus
13. FYR Macedonia
 
"NTU is well-prepared to host this exciting event. Both the Host Broadcaster as well as the EBU are drawing on the experiences gained at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest, which also took place in Kyiv. Together, we are looking forward to a fantastic show," said Steve De Coninck - De Boeck, Chairman of the EBU Steering Group for the competition.
 
The 2009 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held at the Palats Sportu on 21 November at 20:15 CET, and will be broadcast live in all represented countries, as well as online at www.junioreurovision.tv.
