Mr. Kim In-Kyu was inaugurated as the 19th President and CEO of Korean Broadcasting System on 24 November. 

President Lee Myung-bak appointed Mr. Kim to the position following the recommendation of the KBS’ Board of Governors. 

Mr. Kim, in his inauguration address, expressed a strong commitment to refining the roles and responsibilities of KBS as a public service broadcaster. He added that he will make efforts in; raising the TV license fee, the development of free terrestrial digital TV platform and the production of quality content. 

Mr. Kim In-Kyu, 59, joined KBS in 1973 as a news reporter and has held the station’s key positions including member of the Board of Governors, Managing Director of New Media Division and Executive Director of News & Current Affairs. He also served as correspondent to Washington D.C. and New York. Until recently, he served as CEO of Korea Digital Media Industry Association.

Mr. Kim will serve as KBS President & CEO for a term of three years.
