PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL 2010
The PRIX JEUNESSE Foundation organizes the biennial PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL, the oldest and most important TV festival on quality programmes for children and youth. It took place from 28 May to 2 June 2010 at the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation in Munich. The European Broadcasting Union and UNESCO are patrons of the event.
A record number of programmes were entered into this year’s festival: TV stations and production houses from 63 countries entered 326 TV shows in the competition. A trend that stood out among the 2010 entries is programmes tackling complex and risky subjects.
During the festival week more than 400 children’s TV experts, researchers and journalists from all around the world met in Munich. The theme of the 2010 festival was “Different and the same: Celebrating Diversity”.
The aim of the PRIX JEUNESSE Foundation is to promote quality in television for youth worldwide. It aims to promote television that enables children to see, hear and express themselves and their culture, and that enhances an awareness and appreciation of other cultures.
