On 13 July, Jean-Paul Philippot, President of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), and EBU Director General Ingrid Deltenre, met in Brussels with Neelie Kroes, Vice President of the European Commission in charge of the Digital Agenda and Viviane Reding, Vice President of the European Commission in charge of Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship.

The EBU delegation also met with the chief of cabinet of EU Commissioner Androulla Vassiliou for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth. Nicola Frank, Head of the EBU Brussels office, participated in all meetings while Lieven Vermaele, EBU Technical Director, accompanied the delegation to the meeting with Commissioner Kroes.
