bjorn erichsen a présenté à l'assemblée
télévision son plan d'action. pour le directeur du département
télévision de l'uer, un tel plan permettra de mesurer et de
surveiller les performances de la direction et donnera les moyens
de mettre en place une structure et une organisation maximale afin
de trouver des solutions aux problèmes. dans le cadre de ce plan il prévoit, entres autres choses, de
multiplier le nombre de projets de coproduction, de développer les
formats, d'élaborer des stratégies de coopération avec les membres,
et, pour cela, a proposé une nouvelle organisation de son
département comprenant en particulier des chefs de projets
responsables d'un portefeuille d'actions. re-conquérir les jeunes d'autre part, lors de cette première journée de l'assemblée, un
premier atelier dirigé par ruurd bierman de nos, s'est penché sur
la façon de (re)conquérir le public des jeunes adultes, défi
important pour le développement à long terme des diffuseurs.

zubayr, de ard, ainsi que bertrand mosca, directeur des programmes
de france 3.
reception au parlement a l issue de cette journee, les delegues se sont rendus au
parlement ou une reception avait ete organisee en presence du
president de la hongrie ferenc madl.

Jean Stock, the EBU secretary general opens the
Television Assembly.
Delegates.
István Stumpf, the minister in charge of the Hungarian
Prime Minister's Office pronounces his welcome speech.
Bjørn Erichsen presented his business plan to
the EBU Television Assembly. The director of the Television
Department explained that it will enable the EBU to measure and
monitor the department's performance and will provide the means to
introduce the best structure to provide solutions to the
problems.
This plan includes the intention to increase
the number of coproduction projects, develop formats, and draw up
strategies for cooperation with members. Bjørn Erichsen presented
the new department organization structured in particular around
project managers who are each responsible for a varied portfolio of
activities.
Winning (back) young
audiences
This first day of the Television Assembly
also included a workshop lead by Ruurd Bierman from NOS, which
looked into ways of winning over or winning back young adult
audiences, a major challenge for the long-term development of
broadcasting organizations. The workshop was attended by Bert van
der Veer, the former programme director at RTL4, Gilles Marchand
the director general of TSR, Camille Zubayr from ARD, and Bertrand
Mosca, programme director at France 3.
Reception at the Hungarian
Parliament
After the day's meetings, delegates were
invited to a reception held at the Hungarian Parliament in the
presence of the Hungarian President Ferenc Madl.

The second day of the Television Assembly was
devoted to workshops: Proud to present… and improve your Sunday
schedule
Proud to present… looked into the most
interesting new programme formats launched in 2001 and 2002, the
best television feature films, the best documentaries, how to reach
a young audience or specific audience sectors, the success of one
programme (such as Operación Triunfo) or interviews or personality
shows. BBC, France 2, RAI, SVT, DR, ZDF and Czech Television
presented programmes of which they are especially proud. A
particularly lively debate followed.
The second workshop, Improving your Sunday
schedule, enabled delegates to see various examples of Sunday
prime-time programming, with examples from France 2, NOS, HRT, BBC,
VRT.
The mediators: Katharina von Flotow of the EBU and Leif
Jakobsson, programme director at SVT.
Aron Sipos from Focus Film (Hungary) coproducer of the
television film Perlasca, an Italian hero, about Giorgio Perlasca
from Padua who saved 5,000 Jews during the war.
Boris Bergant, vice-president of the EBU with Vlado
Senica (RTVS) and Giacomo Mazzone (RAI).
