The EBU is pleased to reveal the nominees for the 55th annual Rose d’Or Awards which honour the best in international radio, television and online entertainment.

The winners of the biggest and most influential entertainment awards event will be decided at a ceremony in Berlin on 13 September.

Over 400 programmes from more than 130 broadcasters and production companies in 33 different countries were submitted for this year’s Rose d’Or Awards.

Programme makers are competing to take home a coveted Rose d’Or Award in 11 categories. There are six categories for television and online video – Reality & Factual Entertainment, Game Show, Comedy, Sitcom, Entertainment and, new for 2016, Drama Series. Five Radio awards will be given for best Comedy, Talk Show, Music Show, Event of the Year and, also new for 2016, Audio Stories.

“The response from across the entertainment world has been incredible,” said EBU Head of Television and Rose d’Or organiser Jeroen Depraetere. “With such high levels of creativity on show this year our juries have had a tough job selecting the 33 nominees competing to win a Rose d’Or trophy in Berlin. The EBU is proud that once again the Rose d’Or Awards can provide a platform for the world’s best entertainment programme makers.”

Three finalists have been selected for each of the categories, with the exception of the ‘Event of Year’ radio category where the jury only selected one nominee.

For the first time in 2016, the shortlisted nominees will present their programmes to their peers ahead of the Rose d’Or Award ceremony and have a say in who takes home the coveted trophies at the Rose D’Or Award ceremony itself at Axica in Berlin on Tuesday 13 September.
