JERLIN NDUDI was born on May 19th, 1987
in St-Petersburg, Russia.
He became an orphan at the age of five and
since then was fostered by a guardian. In 1998 Jerlin entered
the classic dance class of Choreography Mastership College by
Vadim Pisarev (Donetsk, Ukraine). He was granted free entrance
as an orphan.
Jerlin often takes part in the following
performances of the Donetsk Opera and Ballet Theatre: The Nutcracker
(little Negro, Chinese dance), Aida (Arabic boy), The Sleeping
Beauty, Don Quixote (Basil), La Bayadere (Gold idol). At the College’s
performances he also dances Gopac (music by Solovyev-Sedoy), Acteon’s
variation from the ballet Diana and Acteon, Blessing (music by
Hardiman), contemporary piece Right here. Right now, Tango”
(Bejart). He is currently preparing to perform Cipollino’s
role in the ballet Cipollino (music by K. Hachaturyan). Jerlin
gave performances in the United Arab Emirates (2000), Turkey (2001)
and Japan (April, 2003).
In February 2002 Jerlin, as a promising
dancer of the College, went to the international ballet contest
“Youth of the Ballet” in Kiev and became a Golden
laureate.
Choreographies
LE CORSAIRE (version Petipa: 1899).
DIANA AND ACTEON (version Vaganova: 1935)
is a pas de deux from the second act of Petipa’s version
of La Esmeralda (1886). It is one of the new numbers Drigo composed
for Petipa’s version (the very first ballet premiered in
1844). Vaganova staged another new La Esmeralda in 1935. Her Diana
and Acteon is a virtuoso pas de deux often performed as a gala
divertissement.
