The Legal & Policy Assembly (previously the Legal & Public Affairs Assembly) brings together senior legal and policy experts from EBU Members and reflects the work carried out by the new EBU Legal & Policy Department. This department combines the former Legal and Public Affairs teams under one director, Richard Burnley.
This spring we will update you on the latest developments in the EU Digital Single Market, notably on the progression of trilogue discussions for the AVMSD, the Copyright Directive and Sat-Cab Regulation, and on the state of play of Telecoms.
We will be providing insights on GDPR compliance for broadcasters, which have been brought to light during the various local workshops conducted at Member premises with our external consultant.
There will be a special session on the implications for broadcasters of the dramatically changing world in which we live, and how digitalization is challenging regulation. We will hear from experts in the area and will focus on specific legal areas affected (such as copyright or media law).
As always, Members are also invited to provide updates on national developments and we invite you to contact Richard Burnley if you would like to make a presentation in session.
