World TV Day

EBUACT, and egta  invite you to celebrate World TV Day! The three European broadcasters’ associations will come together to honour a medium that holds a central place in the lives of millions of people, and to highlight the many services it offers in this era of multi-screening.

The focus this year will be the young generation and their relationship to television: “A new generation, a new way to ❤ TV”.

On this occasion, broadcasters across Europe, Asia, Canada, USA and Australia will be invited to screen a 30 second video commissioned by the organizations in recognition of the crucial role TV plays.
The video reflects how young audiences across the world now watch programmes on various devices including mobile phones and tablets. It shows them making heart signs to echo the sentiment of World TV Day which represents how "We Love TV".

To celebrate their love of television viewers will be encouraged to use the hashtags #WeloveTV and #WorldTVDay on social networks on 21 November.

World Television Day was proclaimed an annual event by the United Nations in 1996 in recognition of the impact television increasingly has on decision-makers.
