Investigative Network workshop

The EBU Investigative Network is a community of dozens of investigative reporters and editors in more than 20 countries. Sharing expertise has proven to be incredibly useful to its members. Moreover, joint journalistic projects have stemmed from similar networking workshops.

As in previous editions of this pitching workshop, the aim is to get active investigative reporters from the EBU community together to discuss story ideas, get acquainted with their peers around the continent and hopefully go back home with a few projects they can collaborate on and which will result in powerful investigative publications with cross-border impact. The session is conducted under strict confidentiality rules.

Aside from a “speed pitching” session with story ideas from participants, we'll also hear from our EBU Investigative Projects and Network (EIPN)

Steering Committee heads who will present research on two stories that could benefit from international collaboration and pooling of resources with other members:

  • Pilar Requena, Head of Investigative Unit at RTVE and Chair of the EIPN Steering Committee.
  • Sara Van Boxstael and Pascal Seynhaeve, editors-in-chief of VRT investigative program Pano and Vice-Chairs and Member Project Managers of the EIPN.

The full agenda will follow shortly. To better prepare for the session and connect relevant reporters from different news organizations, we need you to send us a brief summary of your ideas in advance.

  • Headline
  • Short description of investigation (including existing sources, challenges, method)
  • Countries involved
  • Tentative publishing deadline
