Measuring for workforce diversity in public service media

Creating a diverse and inclusive workforce is a significant preoccupation for public service media. However, because diversity embraces so many different facets of what makes us unique (including age, disabilities, ethnicity, gender, LGBTQI+ and more), measuring diversity can be a challenge.

In the first of the EBU’s DEI Series, we'll hear from Miranda Wayland at the BBC and An Dezeure at VRT on how their organizations are measuring for diversity. Dr Margret Bjarnadottir will tell us how data can help arm organizations to understand, predict and deliver on their diversity commitments.

We'll share knowledge in the following areas:

  • Why we should measure diversity in our workforce
  • How we can measure for diversity
  • Quantitative tools to arm our organizations’ decision making about diversity

This event is part of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Lunch and Learn series.

Diversity Equity & Inclusion is an EBU strategic Initiative. It supports EBU Member organizations’ work to reflect the societies they serve through diversity in their content and workforce.
