Providing staff with psychological support in times of war: A Future of Work event in association with UA:PBC

Since Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the world has watched a constant stream of footage from the war in real time. But what if the terrors of war are closer to home and being witnessed for real by your workforce? What measures can public service media take to support staff as they deal with conflict and trauma?

The Future of Work Group is dedicating a special session to these topics in December. It will feature Dmytro Kozlov, Board Member and Chief Human Resources Officer at UA:PBC, the Ukrainian public broadcaster.

Dmytro will present the unique and unprecedented work done to support UA:PBC staff during the war, with a focus on psychological help. Among other examples, we will see how a network of professional therapists volunteered to help UA:PBC staff, how new institutional partnerships were created to enhance the support, and how this assistance evolved into structured internal therapy sessions hosted online by an in-house therapist.

We will also hear from some of the staff who benefited from the initiatives and what this support meant to them.

Dmytro joined UA:PBC in 2021. His background in psychology meant that he could reach out to a wide network of experts that allowed the quick implementation of support services.

After the session, there will be a Q&A. Everyone working for EBU Members is welcome to join.

If you’d like to attend this meeting but are not part of the Future of Work Group, please get in touch with Enrica Damini.
