TV Acquisitions Virtual Meeting
This meeting brings together acquisitions contacts from across TV programme genres for a briefing and discussion on a new EBU service to be launched after the summer break which will allow EBU members to launch collective pre-buys of high-end content. The service targets drama and factual programmes initially, but can be applied to live entertainment, events and other genres. During this meeting EBU TV and the Media Intelligence Service (MIS) will launch a jointly-commissioned survey to discover trends in acquisitions from within the public-service broadcasting sector, and from the wider industry.

"HDTV is inevitable" was a cry often heard at this EBU seminar as there are a complex range of factors influencing the right time for public service broadcasters to start.
