EBU operating Eurovision and Euroradio
The very first collection of data about EBU Members' data strategies is now available. Based on answers from 39 organizations, EBU Media Intelligence Service (MIS) research shows that, for a majority of EBU Members, data is high on the agenda: 31% see data as an important topic and another 31% even consider it as a strategic priority.

The results also reveal that many EBU Members are still at the beginning of their data journey: 41% are just starting to design their data strategy. At the other end of the spectrum, 20% of organizations declare that their data strategy is at an advanced stage, although only 10% consider themselves as advanced when it comes to implementing such a strategy. GDPR implementation: time to prepare!
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will be legally effective from 25 May 2018. An EBU workshop covering the practical aspects of compliance with the GDPR will take place in early autumn 2017. In order to prepare the workshop, the EBU will launch a survey for Members to identify the main challenges raised by GDPR implementation. EBU signs EU agreement to launch MediaRoad project
The EBU Brussels Office will pilot an ambitious EU-funded 'research to market' project, which will be officially launched on 1 September 2017. The 'MediaRoad' project will foster a European media ecosystem for innovation, bringing together a broad range of media organizations, identifying key policy priorities and exploring opportunities offered by new technologies, including the use of data for audience measurement and content creation.
