International Romani Day
In conjunction with International Romani Day on 8 April and in keeping with the EBU's Strategic Initiative on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), the Music Unit is making available to EBU radio organizations an offer featuring music from Europe's largest ethnic minority.
Women In Music Days
After the EBU Music community's launch of Women In Music Days last year, in conjunction with UNESCO's International Women's Day on 8 March, a number of events are scheduled in 2021.
Svetozár Stračina Grand Prix
First held in 2003, the Svetozár Stračina Grand Prix Competition is an international biennial competition open to folk music recordings entered and produced by EBU Members and Associates.
Euroradio Folk Music Spring and Easter Project
Each year, the Folk and Traditional Music Group invites EBU radio organizations to submit one or two folk songs, traditional or newly composed, vocal or instrumental, either on an Easter liturgical theme or more generally devoted to springtime.
World Radio Day
World Radio Day (WRD) on 13 February marks the anniversary of the first broadcast by UN Radio in 1946, when it transmitted its first call sign: "This is the United Nations calling the peoples of the world."
Every year, around 3,500 concerts are offered and taken by EBU radio organizations, representing the world's largest exchange of music of all kinds: classical, jazz, folk, world and rock/pop.
