62nd Ondas Awards: International registrations open

Submissions are being called for one of Europe’s most prestigious award ceremonies, which recognizes professionals and programming in the fields of radio and television broadcasting and the music industry.

The Ondas Awards, which were created in 1954 are held annually by Radio Barcelona, a subsidiary of Cadena SER, which is part of the European Broadcasting Union.

The awards seek to promote new trends in programming across all genres including news, drama and entertainment and encourage productions that enrich the radio, television and digital experience.

They recognize both the quality and popularity of productions, as well as careers in radio, television, music and radio advertising at a national and international level.

Past winners have included the 2014 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, REM, U2, The Corrs, Eric Clapton, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gloria Estefan, Miguel Bosé, Luz Casal, Phil Collins, Joaquín Sabina, Mecano, Ketama, Coldplay, Ricky Martin, Mikael Bertelsen and Roger Moore.
