How do you “grab” an audience with a great opening? How can radio tell the history of the world in 100 objects? How about a “jam session” where participants bring and play their favourite selections?
From its modest beginnings back in 1974, the International Features Conference (IFC) has grown to become an absolute must for features producers from all over Europe to air, hear and discuss selected programming on a wide variety of subjects.
The IFC is organized by the Euroradio Features Group, which serves as a forum for discussing, promoting and exchanging experiences in the making of radio documentaries.
Hosted by EBU Member Swedish Radio, this year's IFC brings together producers and directors from the four corners of the globe. On show in Stockholm will be the very best that the world of feature programming has to offer, both in radio and on the newest online and digital platforms.
Aside from breakfast workshops where experienced feature producers can share tips and techniques with younger colleagues, participants have the opportunity to attend a number of listening sessions, where they can sample a wide variety of sound stories especially selected for their quality, innovation and originality. These features encompass the entire spectrum of current feature programming: investigative reporting, inclusive journalism, music documentaries, historical features, audio portraits and much more.
