How do you “grab” an audience with a great opening? How can radio tell the history of the world in 100 objects? How about a “jam session” where participants bring and play their favourite selections?
From its modest beginnings back in 1974, the International Features Conference (IFC) has grown to become an absolute must for features producers from all over Europe to air, hear and discuss selected programming on a wide variety of subjects.
The IFC is organized by the Euroradio Features Group, which serves as a forum for discussing, promoting and exchanging experiences in the making of radio documentaries.
Hosted by EBU Member Czech Radio, this year's IFC will bring together producers and directors from the four corners of the globe. It will be built around four themes: Hearing the Author, Use of Sound, Series and Journalistic Ambitions. One day will be devoted to each of these themes. On the first day, we will put authors in the spotlight, taking a closer look at how authors work with features, and how we hear their specific voices in these features.
Throughout the IFC 2018, we look forward to sharing best practices with each other. The spirit will be one of sharing and learning, listening to our best pieces, discussing and giving each other kind but critical and professional feedback.
