Voices of Fear is a 25-minute documentary series about racism, homophobia, xenophobia and anti-Semitism Europeans experience in their daily lives. It is coproduced under the auspices of the Eurovision Intercultural & Diversity Group (EIDG).
How does it feel when the phenomena of growing racism, homophobia, xenophobia and anti-Semitism are part of your everyday life? What does it look like when a lack of respect for human rights and diversity in Europe influences your way of life? And how many faces does discrimination have?
Voices of Fear provides viewers with individual answers to these questions from various different countries throughout Europe. Touching, shocking, moving and interesting characters in 6 countries tell their stories of fear - the fear that inhibits them, the fear that motivates them, the fear that triggers a new circle of intolerance.
Now 70 years after the end of the Second World War the fear of strangers and 'the other' shows no sign of fading into the past.
The 7 European participating broadcasters produce 7 films under the umbrella of the Intercultural & Diversity Group: Czech Television, HRT (Croatia), NTR and JO (Netherlands), RTVSLO (Slovenia), TV3 (Spain) and UR (Sweden).
The series is produced according to the 'make one, take all' principle - that is, each broadcaster produces one episode under the guidance of an executive producer and receives the other episode for free.
National versions with an IT-track. Each broadcaster makes its own adaptation.
